We are happy to inform you that Edoardo Trimarchi a student of Bocconi University started his internship for IDEA Onlus in Bangladesh. He arrived in Bangladesh the 19th September and arrived in Jessore by Banchte Shekha. Our special thanks to Edoardo and his precious work.

RAIN AND WATERLOGGED SITUATION:  This year we face too much rain. Monsoon rains have disrupted the lives of up to a million people across three districts in the south west of Bangladesh. Apart from severe crises of food, shelter and safe drinking water, waterborne diseases have broken out in the waterlogged areas of the three affected districts of Satkhira district and Monirampur and Keshabpur of Jessore district, The worst affected are Tala, Kalaroa and Sadar upazilas in Satkhira, Paikgachha and Dumuria upazilas in Khulna and Keshabpur, Jhikargachha and Manirampur upazila in Jessore.  About 10,00,000 people in Satkhira, Jessore and Khulna districts are still marooned as rainwater and waters from silted Kopotakkho and Betna rivers entered the area overflowing their banks on August 2. The effected people has left homes and farmland. The water logged situation destroy the local agriculture and businesses. For the high land and convenient drainage systems BS and our working areas people are in safe position. Always every action have two reaction people are suffering for waterlogged problem but Jogahati people now days able to catch more fishes because some of "Pukur" (ponds) are overflowing and fishes are running out!!  Finally now the water start to decreasing and situation getting better and better.
RECRUITMENT AND TUITION PROGRAMME: During this month we recruited 2 tuition teacher for Jogahati and 1 tuition teacher for Sorupdaho. From last 16 August we started the Sorupdaho tuition programme.  Now 4 tuition teacher is working at Jogahati. So, now 1 teacher is covering the pre-school programme and providing support to 35 students. Other 3 teacher is covering 65 students of tuition programme. We very much hopeful that this action will improve the scholastic levels of students.

The project "Shourove's dream" has been succesfully finished. Shourove came back in Bangladesh on the 17th April. Thanks to all supporter and donors for this project. Now Shourove can walk with two crutches.

19 December: Celtic Harp Orchestra Concert by Filodrammatici Thatre in Treviglio (Italy). Before the concert Andrea Borghi, president of IDEA Onlus gave a presentation about aims and activities and promoted a fund raising for "Shourove's dream project".

13 November: Celtic Harp Orchestra Concert for IDEA Onlus by Auditorium della Cassa Rurale di Treviglio - via Carcano, 6 - Treviglio (BG).
The President of Cassa Rurale di Treviglio Mr Gianfranco Bonacina gave his regards to the Orchestra and congratulated himself with Barbara Alfieri and IDEA Onlus members for the prestigious election, he also gave to IDEA Onlus the"Gold ear" symbol of the Cassa Rurale bank.

12 November: Barbara Alfieri was choosen "Manager - star 2010" for being involved in the IDEA Onlus management from Prospera members (association that meet more than 1000 italian manager) and the Corriere della Sera economic review "Il Mondo"(n. 47 del 19/11/2010)
